Sierra S. Davis, DNP, CNM

Sierra Davis is a native of Chicago, Illinois and a certified nurse midwife in the state of New York. She completed her midwifery and nursing education at Columbia University School of Nursing where she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019. At Columbia, she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. During her graduate studies, Sierra participated in the Global Fellows program in Spring of 2019 and traveled to The Gambia in West Africa to complete a 6-week intensive externship in women’s health. She worked alongside students, nurses, midwives, and physicians to provide comprehensive reproductive health care to women in a low resource setting.

Before attending Columbia, Sierra earned her Bachelor of Arts in Medicine, Health, and Society from Vanderbilt University in 2016 where her passion for reproductive justice and birth work began. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Sierra returned home to Chicago, Illinois where she worked as a doula to support women in vulnerable populations during pregnancy and childbirth and served on the Executive Board of Chicago Volunteer Doulas. She is passionate about reproductive justice, LGBTQI+ rights, women’s rights, global health, and diversity in healthcare.
