About Dr. Guirguis
Dr. Peter Guirguis is the leader in the New York Metropolitan Area as well as abroad with patients traveling from afar for Minimal Invasive and Robotic Procedures for a variety of complex causes of pelvic pain secondary to uterine fibroids, ovarian polyps, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding. Dr. Peter has been asked to share his expertise on various minimal invasive gynecological techniques including both preoperative and postoperative care within the united states and most recently abroad.
As a proud advocate of educating women to empower them in their health care decisions, board-certified OB/GYN Peter Guirguis, MD, FACOG, provides personalized care to women of all ages. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN, proud to serve women in Park Slope, Bay Ridge, and Staten Island. A Brooklyn native, “Dr. Pete” is the son of the founder of The Guirguis Obstetrics & Gynecology Group, Dr. Fayez Guirguis.
Dr. Guirguis, also affiliated with New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and Staten Island University Hospital, has over a decade of experience in health care. He received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University in Boston, and continued his education at SUNY-Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, where he earned his medical degree.
From there, Dr. Guirguis went on to complete his OB/GYN residency at the University of Connecticut, affiliated with Hartford Hospital, and then joined the Guirguis Group practice in July 2011. He has since become certified in robotic surgery and is especially interested in minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery. As a proponent of the latest, evidence-based women’s medical care, he keeps current on all modern thinking and technologies.
Dr. Guirguis speaks both English and Arabic.
